Article writing can sometimes just leave you blank. What should I write about? A formula can sometimes help you get started with article writing.

One method of article writing is once you have an idea, just type. Don't think about spelling or grammar, just write.  Edit your article once you have it written. This will sometimes help to keep you going without interrupting thoughts that may come freely.

Write a how-to Article

If you have some expertise on a topic write a how-to. If you lack expertise, do some research and study and you'll soon have enough information to write a how-to.

Write an article from a different perspective

You don't have to follow the crowd, and you don't have to have the same perspective. Write your article from a different vantage point and explain why you hold your personal perspective about the topic at hand. Offering a different point of view can add interest.

Put a list in your article

Lists are very popular. Start with an intro paragraph or two and then follow that with a list of points that are one or two sentences long.

Then finalize your article by writing a paragraph to sum things up.

Develop your article from an outline

Start with your main topic. Then develop an outline of points you want to write about. Fill out each point with information. Lastly go back look at what you have written and develop a title that is interesting and appropriate.

Use numbers in article titles

Titles with numbers are also popular. "Seven Reasons Why I Believe In Flying Saucers". Of course, you can think of a better topic, but you get the idea.

Study top authors

Go to an article bank such as EzineArticles and study the articles written by top authors. This will expose you to a lot of styles that are successful and also will give you some ideas about topics. Just remember it is okay to use ideas, but not alright to blatantly copy articles.
